Hotel is a five-page website for a small independent hotel whose entire argument is that the rate on the site is the number on the bill. Two working mechanisms carry it: a rate calculator that derives the season from your arrival date rather than asking you which months are high season, and applies the long-stay discount automatically instead of selling it as a package.
Pages included
Home — full-bleed hero over a photograph, a band explaining that the booking platforms take 15–18% and that booking direct is simply that much cheaper, three room types with real low-season prices, an included / not-included pair of lists where the second is the useful one, a five-entry daily rhythm, and three guest quotes including a complaint the hotel agrees with.
Rooms — three alternating room blocks, each with specifications, a two-cell low/high price pair, and a "choose a different room if…" box that sends light sleepers away from the view. Then eight things identical in all nine rooms, and a six-row table matching guest types to rooms.
Rates — the calculator: arrival date, nights, guests and room produce a nightly rate, a long-stay discount, extra-bed cost and an all-in total, with a note explaining which season the date fell in and a panel that appears only when the party is larger than the room sleeps — suggesting a bigger room instead. Then the full three-season table (whose figures are the base rates times the calculator's own multipliers), three plain statements about pricing, and six rate questions.
The Place — why the hotel has nine rooms when the land takes eighteen, six facilities including the absence of a spa, a table of nearby places the hotel actually sends people to, and a sustainability section with a "not solved" column that names the pool, the air conditioning and the flights.
Book — a request form that asks about late arrivals and stairs, a hand-maintained six-month availability strip, a four-step process with no account and no booking engine, directions including the turning everybody drives past, and five questions.
Design and style. Clay and sage on warm sand, Playfair Display over Inter, small radii, a transparent header that turns solid over a dark hero — and that transparency is opt-in per page, because on an inner page with a pale band a white logo and a white menu are invisible until the visitor scrolls. The shared script carries the menu, the calculator, accordions and a date guard, all vanilla and null-guarded.
Before you publish. The three base rates live in data-base on the calculator's room options, and are also written into the room cards on the home page, the price pairs on the rooms page and the season table — four places that must agree, and the season table's rows are the base rate times 1.15 and 1.35. The season months live in two arrays at the top of script.js and are also printed in the table; edit both. The multipliers, the 4-night and 7-night discount thresholds and the extra-bed price are all in the script. "No resort fee", "direct is always cheapest" and the price-match promise are commitments — a hotel that adds tax at checkout should not use this template. Forms use named inputs with no action attribute, so PageHub attaches the handler on publish and requests arrive in Form Submissions with the dates, room and calculated total attached.
Best suited to boutique hotels, guesthouses and homestays, villas and serviced apartments, hostels, campsites and glamping — any accommodation small enough that a person answers the enquiry.
