Photographer is a five-page portfolio site built on a dark, image-first layout, for a photographer who wants enquiries from people who already know the price. Three working mechanisms carry it: a lightbox with keyboard control, a category filter over a twelve-image gallery, and a quote builder that adds a collection and any extras into one total and sends the selection with the message.
Pages included
Home — near-full-screen hero over a photograph, four hard numbers, a six-frame feature grid that opens in the viewer, a five-step booking process with what happens at each stage, three published collections, three reviews including one about a gallery that ran late, and an availability close.
Work — twelve captioned images with a working filter across weddings, editorial, portraits and travel, every one of them opening in the lightbox (arrow keys, escape, wrap-around, caption and position); one wedding written up in full including the frame count and the delivery time; four counters; and a closing offer to send two complete galleries.
Pricing — the quote builder: four collections and five add-ons, each option printing its own price from a single source, a running total in a sticky panel, and a form that sends the selection as a hidden field. Then a two-column "included / never included" card, a six-row editorial rate card with the licence terms spelled out, and six money questions.
About — how the studio started, three deliberately inconvenient working rules, two columns of practical answers (backups, insurance, flash, food, languages, religious ceremonies), and three personal projects.
Enquire — a long enquiry form that asks for the date first, a sidebar explaining exactly what happens next, a hand-updated availability board with four states, studio directions and access, and five short questions.
Design and style. Dark charcoal with a terracotta accent, Syne over Inter, square-ish corners and photographs given the whole width. A transparent header turns solid on scroll. The shared script carries the menu, the filter, the lightbox, the quote builder, the accordions and a date guard — all vanilla, null-guarded, and building the lightbox markup once rather than repeating it on every page.
Before you publish. The prices in the quote builder live in data-price attributes and are printed from there, so change them in one place; the three collection cards on the home page are separate copy and must be changed to match. The availability board and the "eleven Saturdays left" line in the footer are hand-maintained claims that date quickly — update them monthly or replace them with something that does not carry a number. Every figure about the studio (214 weddings, two late galleries, twenty-two a year) is a claim someone can check, so make them yours or cut them. Forms use named inputs with no action attribute, so PageHub attaches the handler on publish and enquiries arrive in Form Submissions with the date, collection and quote total attached.
Best suited to wedding and portrait photographers, videographers, illustrators and designers, architecture and interiors studios, and any freelance practice that sells a body of work rather than a product.
