Forward your mailbox
Point support@ or hello@ at the address we give you. We show the exact steps for the five common providers with screenshots, and nothing changes for people writing to you.
about 2 minutesFernway turns a shared mailbox into a queue your team can actually work through. Two seats are free forever — not a trial, not a demo. Everything else is open for fourteen days, and when that ends nothing is charged and nothing is deleted.
About a third of the teams who sign up stay on the free plan permanently, and that is the plan working as intended rather than a leak we are trying to close.
Shared inboxes running on Fernway
The free column is what you keep after the trial ends, with no action required. Nothing here is a countdown in disguise.

Free workspaces are not shown ads, not rate-limited during busy periods, and not used to train anything. They cost us a few cents a month and occasionally become customers, which is the whole arrangement.
Timed on real signups rather than guessed. Nothing is installed and nothing needs your IT team.

about 2 minutesThe free plan covers two people, so the second seat is the point. A shared inbox with one person in it is just an inbox, and you will not see what the product does.
under a minuteTake one actual message from the queue, assign it, leave an internal note and send the reply. That is the whole loop, and it is where most teams decide within an hour.
1–2 minutesWritten down because this is the moment people are actually worried about when they read the word "free".
There is no card on file, so nothing can be. The workspace drops to the free plan on its own — no email chain, no grace period you have to negotiate, no reactivation fee if you come back next year.
Every conversation, note and attachment stays and stays searchable. If you had five people, three become read-only rather than being removed — you choose who keeps the two seats, and you can change your mind later.
Three days before, saying what will change and what it would cost to keep it. One message, no sequence, and unsubscribing from it does not affect the account. That is the extent of the sales process.
Handing a support inbox to a new tool is a bigger decision than the price, and it deserves more than a padlock icon.
In the region you pick at signup, and it does not move. Sub-processors are listed on one page with what each one sees, and you are emailed thirty days before that list changes.
Support staff cannot open your conversations. When you ask for help with a specific thread you grant access for 24 hours, it is logged, and you see the entry in your own audit log.
One button exports every conversation as standard mail files plus a CSV index, attachments included. Deleting the workspace is also one button and takes effect in minutes, not "within 90 days".
Free workspaces can read from these; writing back needs a paid seat. It is the clearest line we could draw that does not cripple the free plan.
"We have been on the free plan for two years. Two of us, one inbox, and it has never nagged us once. When we hire a third person we will pay, and that is exactly why we will pay."
"The trial ending was a non-event. It dropped to free, kept everything, and sent one email. We upgraded three weeks later because the reporting was what we actually wanted."
"I forwarded our support address on a Friday afternoon and had the whole team replying from it by Monday. The part I did not expect: nobody had to be trained."
Two seats and one inbox, and no automation or reporting. That is the whole limit. There is no message cap that stops you mid-month, no ads, no branding added to your replies, and no throttling when it gets busy — those tricks make a free plan useless as a way to judge the product.
Only when you choose to upgrade. Signing up, trialling everything and dropping back to free all happen without any payment details, which also means no accidental renewals and nothing to cancel.
Yes, once more, by asking. Teams often trial too early, before they have enough volume for reporting to mean anything, and refusing them a second look purely because a timer ran out would be silly.
They become read-only, not deleted. You pick which two keep write access, and you can swap that around any time. Their notes and assignments stay in the history exactly as they were.
No, on every plan including free. Your content is not used for model training, not shared with third parties, and not read by our staff without a time-limited grant that you make and can see in the audit log.
Remove the forwarding rule and mail flows to your own mailbox again immediately — we never take ownership of your address. Export the history first if you want it; the file is standard mail format that any other tool can import.
Create a workspace, forward one address, and see whether it fits before anyone has to approve a purchase.
