Kajian, Tuesday evening
An hour of study after Isya, working through one book at a time rather than a different topic each week. Currently in the fourth month of Riyadh as-Salihin.
Tuesdays · 19:30 · main hallA neighbourhood mosque run by a committee of eleven. Prayer times are updated every Thursday, the monthly accounts are read aloud after Jumat, and nobody is asked for anything at the door.
Set by the committee each Thursday for the week ahead and posted on the noticeboard at the same time. Today's row is highlighted and the next prayer is picked out within it.

Iqamah is called ten minutes after each time above, except Subuh, which is twenty. On Fridays the Zuhur congregation is replaced by Jumat: khutbah begins at 11:50 and the prayer follows immediately. Doors open at 04:00 and close at 21:30.
All of them are free, none of them require registration, and every one is open to people who are not members of this congregation.

Tuesdays · 19:30 · main hallSaturday mornings, ages six to fourteen, four teachers and about seventy children. There is a waiting list of eleven and we say so rather than pretending otherwise.
Saturdays · 08:00 · madrasah roomA general practitioner and two nurses, all volunteers, on the first and third Sunday. Blood pressure, blood sugar and general consultation. No appointment and no charge.
1st & 3rd Sunday · 09:00Two hundred meal packets prepared every Friday morning and given out after Jumat to whoever needs them. Nobody is asked to prove anything.
Fridays · after JumatNikah conducted by the imam, and full funeral rites including washing, shrouding and transport. There is no fee for either, for anyone.
By arrangement · any daySunday afternoons for fourteen to twenty-two year olds. Football, study, and organising most of what happens here in Ramadan.
Sundays · 16:00Both figures come from the same ledger that is read aloud after Jumat on the first Friday of the month. When a fund is complete we close it rather than letting it keep collecting.
The main hall roof has leaked at the eastern end since 2024. Three quotes were taken and the middle one accepted; all three are on the noticeboard.

A step-free wudhu area with seating and grab rails, so that older members of the congregation stop having to be helped over a kerb.

The full ledger is published on the first Friday of every month and read aloud after Jumat. Anyone may ask to see any line of it, including people who have given nothing, and the committee has never refused.
You do not need to know anyone, you will not be asked for money at the door, and if it is your first time in a mosque there is someone at the entrance from Magrib onwards whose job is simply to answer questions.
